Riley is an honors graduate of the Master of Business Administration (Finance) program from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He also received his undergraduate business degree from Carnegie Mellon University and graduated with University Honors.

Through his schooling, Riley competed on the world stage as a member of the USA National Karate Team. He competed against and alongside Olympians, travelling to compete in 8 different countries throughout his career against top athletes in the sport. Now retired from the U.S. Team, Riley still enjoys training in karate and playing basketball alongside his top priority of following Jesus and serving the church.
